NEW! From Save Darfur: A collection of press briefings from the White House, UN, State Dept., and 10 Downing St.

This site is a collaborative effort between two Louisville, Kentucky organizations:

Louisvillians Helping Save Darfur
, an affliate chapter of the Save Darfur Coalition, has been active since 2006. Recent activities have seen a Website rollout, more events, and a partnership with KITOD. The group has spearheaded efforts in the area of divestment locally and has increased visibility in the political arena. The emphasis on political solutions has seen a collaboration with the national members of the Save Darfur Coalition and lobbying efforts with state officials.

The Kentuckiana Interfaith Taskforce On Darfur (KITOD) is loosely knit organization comprised of many regional civic, religious, charitable, activist groups, and individuals. Through increased efficiencies from collaboration with these affiliated groups and individuals, KITOD seeks to work on the local level towards solutions to the crisis currently afflicting Darfur, Sudan, and the surrounding region.
The three pillars to KITOD mission are: education/awareness, fundraising, and political mobilization. Since the group's inception in February of 2007, there have been major events addressing each of these components. KITOD has been actively pursuing an agenda intended to keep the genocide and related issues happening in Darfur front and center in the local consciousness.
Affiliated members include local social justice, activist, and humanitarian organizations as well as many individuals. As our inaugural year winds down, we have had many, many successes. Thanks to everyone who has participated this year.

Thank you for visiting!

A message from Bob Brousseau:

I'd like to welcome everyone to this site and urge you to register and use the Forum section for any Darfur and Sudan related issues for us here in the Louisville, KY area.

A message from Dr. Dave Robinson:

SaveDarfur.org is focusing on our Kentucky Senators. Since, Senator Mitch McConnell is leader of the Republicans in the Senate, he holds a lot of political leverage.

Senator McConnell is running for reelection in Kentucky THIS year so will be particularly sensitive to the demands of his constituents. Please write, email or call your Senator right now in support of pending Darfur and Sudan legislation. The ‘sooner the better’. Here are websites with contact information on the Senators from Kentuckiana:

Senator McConnell
Senator Bunning

Senator Bayh
Senator Lugar
